The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on 30 September provides a yearly opportunity for Canadians to reflect on the legacy of Canada’s residential school system. We wear orange on this day to commemorate the Survivors and their recollections of missing children and hidden burials on residential school properties. The OCETFO/FEEO is committed to continuing the work of Reconciliation. Our Members show this public support for Survivors, their families, and communities through their efforts to educate about the history and ongoing legacy of residential schools. As a Union we are committed to supporting educators, communities, and students in continuing these conversations. We renew our call to demand action for reconciliation and justice as we engage students in this learning.
